LEATHERCRAFT CL B Leathercraft, the oldest industry in the world, is enjoyed by many students at Westlane. Under the guidance of Mr. Ufkes, the members learned this ancient art of leather carving, making it a profitable hobby. Some of the projects of the club included designing and making comb cases, coin purses, key cases, belts, and billfolds. During the year an exhibit in the showcase displayed the various tools needed for this art. At the school Open House a demonstra- tion was given showing the actual work involved in arriving at the finished project. No longer do mem- bers of this club have to purchase leather gifts. Be- cause of their great proficiency in leather goods Con- struction, they can produce their own handmade leather articles. LEATHERCRAFT CLUB. First row. B. Marr T L h , ' I 9 ' , A. Schonhiede, M.
