IENC CLUB Almost every aspect of physical science may be ex- plored in the Science Club, sponsored by Mr. Van Sickle. Throughout the year the members have per- formed chemical experiments and have delved into the fields of astronomy, physics, and geology. Sponsoring the Science Fair has not only helped the members enjoy science more thoroughly but has also given their fellow students a greater insight into this area. PHOTOGRAPHY CLUB. First row: R. Ws9?25fiw6?z4W-M AUDIO-VISUA L B Operating and maintaining the audio-visual equip- ment are the two main functions of the Audio-Visual Club. During their study hall, the members of this club may be stationed in the library to check out and operate the equipment. Under the sponsorship of Mr. Pogue, this club had a training session at the beginning of the year to acquaint new members with the care and operation of the audio-visual devices. Hoffmann, M. Pceler, B. Heeter, S. Beatty. Many of the Biology Club members had the oppor- tunity to explore the mysteries of the plant, animal, and protist kingdoms. Under the supervision of Mr. Johnson and Mr. Benbow, each member was able to investigate the aspect of biology in which he Was most interested. The projects in this group varied greatly, ranging from the maintenance of terreriums and aquariums to the dissection of different animals. Qne of the highlights of the year was a tour of Saint Vincent's Hospital and School of Nursing. A program showing several proper first aid techniques was given during the club open house. Under the sponsorship of Miss Doyle, the girls have discovered what personal and scholastic qualifications one must possess. This club is an excellent guide for choosing a career in nursing. FUTURE TEACHER CL B Two of the major goals of the Future Teachers Club are to inform its members about a teaching career and to help in the exploration of the qualifica- tions necessary to become a teacher. Under the sponsorship of Mr. Weeks, this active club has taken several field trips and has been a guest at a tea for all Future Teachers Clubs of Indiana. During class the members saw movies and had panel discussions evolving from the movies. This club was fortunate to have Mr. Spilly speak on the topic of education. Several other teachers also gave very interesting lec- tures on various subjects revelant to teaching.
