New ams, New heories, AM RADIO CL B Acquiring skill in sending and receiving Morse code messages was one of the main objectives of the Ham Radio Club. With the guidance of their sponsor, Mr. McNichols, the boys gained great proficiency in working with the code, in order to pass the Federal Communications Commission test, and became licensed operators, with the privilege of transmitting messages over the ham radio. The pupils bring in interesting problems for the whole club to solve. Logarithms and trigonometry are a few of the things that have been explored. With the help of the club's sponsor, Mr. Vance, each member strives to understand more in the field of math, concentrating on the specific area of math which most interests him. D. Glanzman, B. Under the spon- sorship of Mrs. I-Iess, all school-wide collections of money during the year are handled by the members of this vital club. Two of the largest projects this year, in which outstanding work was done, have been the sales of the school newspaper and the yearbook. Hoffmann, M. Pceler, B. Heeter, S. Beatty. Many of the Biology Club members had the oppor- tunity to explore the mysteries of the plant, animal, and protist kingdoms. Under the supervision of Mr. Johnson and Mr. Benbow, each member was able to investigate the aspect of biology in which he Was most interested. The projects in this group varied greatly, ranging from the maintenance of terreriums and aquariums to the dissection of different animals.
