Most Westlaners say the best part of school is seeing our friends. There are also many favorite spots that We have discovered. Who can forget the frantic get-togethers around lockers as we paused briefly between classes? We carried our enthusiasm to our after-school games Where we vented our excess energy stored up after a full day at school. Our busy life continued as getting to the buses proved to be a challenge when we maneuvered our way past friends invariably trying to go in the opposite direction. We even found time to get to know each other better as We Worked together in the classrooms. Whether in class or in the halls, during school or after, friends and faces played an important role in our lives at Westlane. Means Familiar Friends and Faces Don't let it loose! What makes these places special to us? The quietude of the library? The beckoning of friends in the cafeteria? The bustling in the halls? Or is it that all these are crowded places-crowded with smiling friends and happy faces? This year Westlane is more crowded than it has ever been, or may ever be. The traffic jams at the ends of the halls are almost unavoidable, and the noise during the passing time is contagious. Especially agonizing to those who dine in E lunch period are the aromas from the kitchen when the cafeteria is used as a study hall. The library is well put to use by the many who do research, compose book reports, or are just plain bookworms.
