WENDEE DUHON CROWNED On October 30, 1987, Miss Wendee Duhon was crowned Homecoming Queen. The Queen was voted on by the student body of WHS and she was crowned at the halftime festivities by the 1986 Homecoming Queen, Miss Michele White. This ivas Wendee’s fourth year to be on the Homecoming Court and she was once again escorted by her father Mr. Harlan Duhon. We congratulate Wendee on being named 1987 WHS Homecoming Queen. Wendee, a senior, has been active in a number of clubs and activities. She has been a member of FHA, FBLA, Speech and Key Clubs as well as participating in basketball, volleyball, and softball. She has been a cheerleader for three years, has served on the homecoming court four years, and served as Cal-Cam representative during her senior year. 1987 HOMECOMING QUEEN Opening 15

WHS STUDENTS TAKE A STAND (Below) Jennifer Joubert signs a pledge to refrain from using mood altering drugs during Substance Abuse Week observed October 12-16. A balloon launch from the Civic Center culminated a week of activities celebrating “Saying no to drugs. ” (Bottom Right) Yearbook staffer Sherry Thornton encourages student body members to exercise their right to vote in the mock gubernatorial election. Westlake students’ opinion did not concur with state voters, however. Statewide Buddy Roemer won handily while WHS chose Bob Livingston.
