DEDICATION: It is with a great deal of pleasure that the Ram-Ler Staff of 1965 dedicates this volume to Mrs. Pearle Hebert in appreciation for her endless work in behalf of the students at Westlake High. Some of her duties include the making out of class schedules, administering of standardized tests, checking up on the records of seniors to make sure they are taking enough credits to graduate, keeping a complete academic record on each student and investigating all of the scholarship offers. Mrs. Hebert was born Pearle Agnes Smith on March 17. 1917, at Boyce, Louisiana. She attended Boyce Elementary and Boyce High School where she graduated as valedictorian in 1934. Her BA degree was granted from Northwestern in 1938 in business administration. In 1939 she married Jack McKnight and she became the mother of three children: Jackie, Edwin, and Kirby. For ten years Mrs. Hebert taught adult education in Rapides Parish and for three years at Boyce High School. In the fall of 1959 she began teaching at Westlake High School and this completes her sixth year with us. In 1963 she received her Master of Education degree from Northwestern with guidance and counseling as her major. In 1963 she married Mr. Andrew Hebert of Sulphur, Louisiana, and on November 25, 1963 she was the recipient of the Award of Merit by the Louisiana Association of Public School Adult Educators in recognition of untiring efforts to help citizens of Louisiana toward a fuller life through active support of the Louisiana Adult Academic Education Program. Don’t you agree with us that she is very deserving of love and appreciation from all of us?
