7?am er JJS Wes ZaAe Shfigh Sc hoof lo)esi a£e, Louisiana Uofume 13 orecuor The sound of happy voices, the spirit of good sportsmanship, the molding of ideals and aspirations - all comb to enrich our Westlake. In the hope of creating a worthy souvenir of memorable days at Westlake for students and friends, we, the Staff of 1958, present this 13th volume of the Ram-ler. of our yearbook has been made possible through the generous cooperation of students, faculty. ' “X VVVJ VI •II1VII 1, and patrons. Jauorites. I have watched the 1957-58 edition of the RAM-ler grow from the planning stage into a reality. This year's annual reflects the true spirit of the students who have attended Westlake High School this year - their enthusiasm, interests, and abilities. Some of our students will be leaving. When the last bell has rung for the Seniors of 1958, may they go forth confident that we have tried to lead them in the right paths with the ultimate aim of developing them mentally, physically, morally, spiritually, and socially. Perhaps an occasional glance through this annual from year to year will cause our graduates to become more useful and worthy citizens of our country - for this is our goal in training boys and girls. Would it be for someone else or for yourself? Wealth? Health? Happiness? Success? If I had that opportunity, my wish would be for each individual attending Westlake High School. It would be that, as students, and graduates, we would not consider our education complete at physical maturity, but that we might continue to grow mentally and socially., becoming better Americans. The person whose mind stops growing is the one who becomes fixed in his ideas and ideals He then cannot fit into our modern, changing world. So may we accept the challenge of this changing world, and appreciate and respect it as it is today and will be tomorrow, for it is the key of success. (Jryanization s . l0)J£S.
