“
In order to preserve the memories of our high school days, we have filled this annual with pleasant reminders and associations. We wish to express our appreciation to the faculty members and student body for their assistance in compiling this yearbook. It was through the forethought, planning and untiring efforts of one individual that this, our high school, came into existence. Therefore it is justly fitting that we, the annual staff, dedicate this edition of the Ram-ler to our founder and first principal, Mr. S. P. Arnett. HIGH SCHOOL GRAMMAR SCHOOL PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE Another year, another fine annual. Congratulations, staff and sponsors. You have completed a fine piece of work. The year 1948-49 has been most successful even though we were faced with seemingly unsurmountable obstacles. Our success has been attained only through much planning and altering on the part of both faculty and student body. Many objectives were realized. The most significant of which was the formation of the Student Council. If this activity continues with the same degree of success with which it was launched, the past year may be remembered for that alone. With new and improved facilities with which to work, lets begin the year 1949-50 with a fervent desire to make it an even more outstanding year for Westlake High School. J. M.
