7a 77044 faaaldnnf 14. Wayan . . . We dedicate this, our yearbook of '52, for her long hours of hard work, for her patience and understanding, and for her constant desire to make our school a better one. The- Westlake Band, which she organized six years ago, placed third in strong competition at the Charity Game and played also in the spring con- cert. Miss Voyner, looking toward the future, has worked hard with her junior band with the idea of replacements for oursgraduates. Whe-n we think of the success of our gleefclub and band, we must re- member and feel grateful for the energy that she puts forth behind the scenes. To you, Miss Voyner, with these things in mind, we- dedicate the Panorama of 'l952. , . c five

' WESTLAKE HIGH SCHOOL 7 On the stage ot Westlalce High School there were many skits and acts portrayed throughout the year. As you turn the page-s ot this review, you recapture at a glance the happiness ot many ot these scenes: the football games under the bright tloodlights, the bustle ot many behind-the-scene activities, the- laughter and joking between scenes, and learning our parts in the classroom. The year of l95l and i952 packed much comedy and excitement, and even a sprinkling ot pathos into this exceptionally fine drama. We, the understudies, wish to extend to our stars the best of luck in all their future- productions.

ln appreciation of our faithful office girl, Doris, we cannot fully express our gratefulness for her many efforts. Doris can well be credited with helping to ke-ep our school's business and activities running smoothly and efficiently. Her help to Mr. Read and Mr Burneson in the office has been priceless. Doris does not limit her work to just that which is required. For instance, one telephone call may have her going all through the school searching for a person to answer it. Doris helps with our schedules, sells us our supplies, and does what she can for the faculty. ln putting all these things to- gether, we can truly realize how worthy and deserving Doris is of our vote of thanks for her competent services here at Westlake. ln honoring Mr. Edward Rasmussen, our science and math teacher, we must not forget his patience in our laboratory, as well as in the classroom, in teaching us some very difficult subjects, Mr. Rasmussen has, not just this year, but for many years, been the Juniors' able advisor in planning the magazine campaigns, the Jun- ior-Senior Banquet, and the Junior dance. When we think of Mr. Rasmussen, we think of efficiency. This has been proved many times over by his fine, organized committees, and the wonderful re- sults he gets from his students. The Juniors can certainly attribute their success to Mr. Rasmussen's fine leadership. Once again a bigger and better Panorama has been produced, and once again we can credit our achie-vement to the long hours of hard work by our advisor, Miss Marilyn Hackett. Miss Hackett's democratic and efficient guidance has given our staff a feeling of security, for her optimism, even through the worst times, has re- lieved the always-present pressure and rush that a Panorama staff must go through. Thank you, Miss Hackett, on behalf of the whole school for your efforts in giving us a fine annual. To these people we express our gratitude. However, we do wish to thank the faculty for their sincere efforts to make us all more intelligent and better citizens. SIX
