FOOTBALL On the furst sunny afternoon of the new school year an average slze group of players and prospectuve players gathered with Coach Kenneth Mull to talk over the comung football season and go through thelr fnrst paces ln the trarnlng program Funally when the coach felt his team was ready they en countered lndependance at Dover The funal score showed Dover on the short end ofa l3 O score They blamed thus fnrst defeat on nnexperuence and hoped for the best On Saturday September 25 the Demons met Cuyahoga l-lelghts and whutewashed them for a marvelous comeback 43 O The followlng Frnday Dover played thenr fnrst game on an opponents fneld namely Brecksvllle It was a very close game and ended wlth Dover ahead 7 O Frlday October l5 the Demons were home agaln wlth two wlns and second touchdown decnded the game The funal Strongsvnlle l3 Dover l2 A week later on a cold rauny afternoon Dover went over to Olmsted Falls to be defeated by the last year s champs 9 O October 28 North Olmsted came to Dover an an effort to show thelr stuff but were turned back l2 O Saturday Nov 6 was the bug and fnnal game of the year with Bay Bay s fleld After Dover thought the game was sewed up Bay came back to wln IN the flnal period by a score of 9 7 Statustlcs showed 3 wuns 4 losses Dover s total pornts 8l opponents 44 Football letters were awarded at the annual football banquet Y ffl . l 4 . . 4 S l ' 1 1 T , , , I l ' .
