BEST SECRETARY AND MACHINIST The Senior Class of T959 has voted the titles of Best Secretary and Best Machinist to two very skillful and industrious students. They are commercial student Mary Ann Madaras and vocationalist Bob Casper. Along with their fine talents, many hours of work and honest effort have earned them these enviable titles. We, the Class of '59, wish them the success we are sure they will find in their endeavored vocations. BEST LOOKING The admirable appearance of our best looking seniors, Margie Pochciol and Ed Janero is envied by all. We don't believe that pretty Margie Pochciol will have any difficulties winning beauty contests or becoming a glamorous movie actress someday. As for handsome Ed Janero, we expect that he will be one of our future Mr. Americo's and be admired by every- one. We all agree that Sally and Joseph have NICEST PERSONALITY Margaret Dunmire and Thomas Hartzell, two of the nicest seniors of 1959, have deservingly gained the title of Nicest Personality . Their friendly attitude toward fellow students and members of the faculty throughout their school years have entitled them to this honor. Peggy and Tom never seem to be too busy to exchange friendly words or smiles with their fellow classmates, whether it be in or out of school. Many students teel that Margaret Dunmire and Thomas Hartzell are two of the nicest people that have ever attended W. M. H. S. BEST DANCERS Whenever there is a dance in town, you will usually see two of our seniors having a good time. Sally Reilly and Bob Ponsetto are really hep when it comes to knowing the latest dance steps. Their great interest in dancing has won them the Best Dancers title. Out of our Senior class, consisting of over 140 students, Sally Shushereba and Joe Leonardo were chosen to edit our yearbook. Both of these very busy and capable students found that it was quite a chore to put together a book which would be a true picture of our highschool life. Sally spent much time scheduling pictures that fill the pages of our annual, Joe had the very difficult chore of correcting each and every article turned in to him. Both of our editors spent many hours with our Advisor Mr. McLain, in putting together the annual which we hope you are now enioying. Our Memorial staff has worked diligently to prepare the 1959 edition of the yearbook for you. Under the capable supervision of Mr. McLain, our faculty advisor, we have worked many long hours and have surrmounted many difficulties. We who are responsible for this edition have enioyed the work because it provided us with opportunities to come in closer contact with our classmates, faculty, and administrations. We owe much also to Mr. Dupar whose excellent photography has enhanced the book. The administrators and faculty have been very under- standing in allowing us time for this work to be accomplished. , S. Eskey, P. Martello, J. Zofchak L. Merritts, B. Sandrovich, E. These girls have helped to brighten up the halt-time shows at the football games. They practice every fourth period with the band at the stadium. During concert season, three ot the majorettes play in the band. This year the girls received new uniforms which consist of white slacks and jackets. Three of the girls will be graduating in the spring. They are Joann Pribanic, Patsy Roney, and Sally Shushereba. The whole school is sorry to see you go. Maiorettes pose for the camera. Dancing tothe Bleacher Boogie. Mr. Petrocelli - Director N 455, it M my Football games just wouldn't be the same without our taithtul band, each halftime marching out on the field with Grand Entry Swing, followed by a terrific show and then our beloved Alma Mater. Students boasted with pride as the band again and again performed spectacular shows. Unique shows, with lights, added much to the crowd's enioyment. As the leader of school spirit, the band has done well. These sharp, alert, and snappy students in their blue and gold uniforms have added much to our enjoyment of football. Our band again last year won a Victory at State contests in Harrisburg. Under the able leadership of Mr. Petrocelli, we retained our superior rating. Long, hard hours of practice entailed in preparing for these contests again proved their worth with another victory. The soloists, ensembles, and groups entering the Forensic contests also did their part to make us proud of our music department. Majorettes: R. Petruska, A. Smith, M. Visnick, P. Roney, P. Matic, J. Aunts send Teddy to Panama Mortimer receives bad news Mr. Gibbs offered poisoned wine 5'P On Jan. 22, 1959, the Senior class presented Arsenic and Old Lace, one of the most successful plays ever to be staged at W,M.H.S. The famous Broadway comedy was outstandingly performed by 14 seniors under the able direction of Mr. Bolton. The cast was especially heartened by the fact that many people commended them for their professional-type performances. The play, a three act comedy, dealt with the life of two eccentric old women who poisoned elderly, lonely gentlemen to put them out of their misery. Believing this to be a chari- table deed they had no fears about telling their young nephew Mortimer about their hobby. His efforts to stop their activities farm the basis of this enioyable play. The members of the cast will always remember the wonderful time they spent in pre' paring this fine production. CAST Abby Brewster . . ..,. . O. Wilmerding then hosted Blairsville and Blairsville's speedy backfield and hard charging line were too much for the Wildcats, and they were defeated 12-7. Wilmerding's record now stood at l and 3. The tides of fortune remained unchanged when Glassport invaded Wilmerding. The Wildcats lost a hard fought T2-7 decision.
