Many hours have been spent trying to give you a year- book that has everything. The staff has tried to capture in pictures or print the important events of the past year, with the idea of serving their elass and helping their friends remember their good times. This job eouldnit have been done Without the aid of Mr. Dupar, our on-the-spot photograpberg Mr. McLain, our advisorg the fac- ultyg administrationg and the students. Mr. Dupar and Mr. McLain P. Maguire and ll. Postell Co-editors of the Melnorlr Although compiling the material used in the Memorial was quite a task, it still was pleas- ant. Knowing that their finished product would appear in print made the burden of writing, typing, or proofreading seem lighter to the staff. It inspired them to work harder to make the Memorial a Worthwhile product. Everyone on the staff has Worked hard to make the 58 Memorial the best one 6VOl'. VOCAL MUSIC Twenty-six members make up the choms of WV. M. H. S. this year. The organization is under the directorship of Mr. James Drake, a graduate of Duquesne University. As a side line, Mr. Drake writes music and sings with The Tem- posf' Their audiences love the pleasure of hearing the chorus' fine music at Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter. At graduation, a few of the more talented members will be asked to sing a solo upon their leaving Wilmerding High. Every school clay, you can find these students diligently preparing for these occasions. This takes place the first period. There is one very interesting item concerning this years, chorus and that is, of the twenty-six members, there is not one masculine voice. The reason?-They are all girls. 60 F. They have mnnerous things to do around the campus such as working in the projection room showing the movies, preparing the stage for assemblies, and two of the boys even painted the scenery for our senior class play. You couldnit find a friendlier group of boys! As last year, the vocationals hoast of having the most Handsome boy among them, Larry Fiasco. Kwolck and L. Urban. GG The class of presented its play Anne of Green Gable-sw in December. A three act drama, it was the story of a young orphan girl, Anne, and her experiences at the home of Mat- thew and Marilla Cuthbert. WVlien Anne got to the home, called Green Gables, everyone, es- pecially, Marilla, was quite shocked. You see, Marilla sent for a boy! Matthew persuaded her to keep Anne. F inally, Anne succeeded in breaking through the barrier to Marillzfs heart to make her become human. Although rehearsing for a play is harcl, time C0l1Sl1lHlIlfI, work, the cast really enjoyed prepar- ing for this play. VVhat made the play especially enjoyable was the fact that we wore costumes in it, since the play occurrecl around l9lO. The night of the play we were nervous, hut when it was over we were relieved and a little sad. Par- ticipating in a play gives people a chance to know others better. lt may he harcl to learn lines and actions, but the execution of a goocl play is reward enough.
