TEKOA Will time dissolve the memories of our years ? Hours of study paralleled by endless carefree seconds, The challenging wisdom of our elders, Or echoes of song in empty corridors, Laughter and sports on autumn days, Moments of solemn intellectual trial, Curious urges ( quest and inquiry ) of our youth, The hopes, the plans, the cares we had - - - Will they be lost in the unfathomable Depths of time ? What will remain in years to come? The fulfillment of learning through guidance. The very hands that molded and trained and guided us Hands that smiled and then (restrained, rebuffed) Encouraged and then discouraged, Hands that opened our minds and filled our hearts, Hands that taught us patience and wisdom, Hands that cried truth and conviction And rewarded us with praise Are now ours to use, to consecrate. The mold is cast and we step forth Apprehensive, with trembling, hopeful hands Masking a heart of conviction. Let us go together and place our faith in knowledge. We too will be hands Striving always toward the good. We too will be the preceptors of youth, Seeking only the reward of accomplishment.
