1 I feel privileged to have assisted in the education of hundreds of young people and to have known their teachers and parents during my 28 years of service in the Westfield schools.” In Dedication Albert Sobol Albert R, Bobal. our principal, has earned the admiration and recognition of both students and faculty. Over the years Mr. Bobal has acted as a positive influence for administrators and educators, stressing creative, imaginative, and flexible instruction while maintaining excellence in curricular offerings. As a high school social studies teacher, Mr. Bobal started his career in Westfield in the 1950's. He, however, quickly moved to the administration level, serving as an elementary principal followed by devoted service as principal of both Roosevelt and Edison junior high schools. Mr. Bobak returned to the high school as principal in 1969. Mr. Bobal's endeavors inside and outside of Westfield have earned for him the respect and admiration of Westfield residents and other academic leaders throughout New Jersey. His is indeed an unparalleled record of service to a community. As he is about to depart from his academic role as facilitator and leader, we, the. 1980 Weather Vane staff, wish Mr. Bobal continued success and warmly dedicate this first yearbook of a new decade to him. 20
