It means the privilege of using the Senior Door, of going to the Senior Picnic and the Senior Banquet, of having a Prom given in your honor, which you can attend without pay- ing any admission price. To the seniors their class meant something more. It meant friends-friends they had seen all their lives-who would now be going into the world to fail or succeed. To the seniors this was a year of realizing a thousand ambitions. It was the year that Westfield beat Plainfield in the Thanksgiving Day Game-the first time in twelve ears. y More than that, the Senior Year was the final year-the year when all education and slave labor over books would be put to the final test. Stu- dents either awaited returns from the colleges or they began to think about just what they were going to do to take their part in the world. This year was an end, but it is also a begin- ning.

DIETRICH Senior Class Adviser If you were to make a list of names of the people who had helped you to become a better citizen, Miss Dietrich's name would be near the top. Five or six years ago she took over the posi- tion of Senior Class Adviser, and decided to give the Word a new meaning. Little by little, differ- ent innovations began to appear. The Senior Council was founded and rose to a position of influence. The ideas of having a Senior Banquet and a Senior Picnic materialized, and then be- came tradition. Throughout the High School, senior activities grew in size and stature until they had become the foundation of the school. During the time she has remained here, Miss Dietrich has become a part of all of us.
