This year the twirling squad re- ceived additional help from Miss Marion Taylor who not only aided in devising their routines for each game but also introduced a new style of marching. Specialties during the sea- son were majorette Susan Iacohusis half time routines and an Indian XVar Dance at the North Plainfield game. The climax, of course, was the Plain- field game when Sue introduced twirling with fire. Many students had re- quested the revival of boy cheer- leaders, and when football season arrived four handsome seniors an- swered the call. Many hours of prac- tice Were put in before each game by both the boys and the girls super- vised by Miss Marion Taylor. Much of the credit for our high XVestfield spirit this ycar should go to Captain Elizabeth Putnam and her cohorts who managed to keep enthusiasm at a feverish pitch. WVhen basketball season arrived these girls quickly changed their blazers and skirts for jumpers and the gridiron for the gym, but they still kept that same VVestfield spirit resounding throughout the game. 59051 FIQLO 27
