With her understanding, her winning personality, and her ready smile Miss Mildred C. Fox, a member of the Westfield High School faculty for the past four years, has won the friendship of all. Her close relationship with the students and their problems has been instrumental in making her recent ap- pointment as Guidance Counselor a source of satisfaction to everyone who knows her. Born in Pennsylvania, Miss Fox attended Ursinus College at Collegeville, Pennsylvania, from which she received the degree of Bachelor of Arts. The Master's degree was conferred upon her by New York University where she is now taking a course in guidance, After graduation from college Miss Fox accepted a teaching position in the Mahanoy Township High School, where she was head of the Social Studies Department. From there she came to Westfield. Here she has taught P.A.D., English, history, and geography and in the extra-curricular field has served as a faculty adviser to the Guidance Council and the Forum. In both of these student organizations she transmits her zeal for the development of discus- sions of current problems to the members. A versatile person, indeed, Miss Fox finds time aside from her work for reading biographies and books on international affairs, for music, drama. dancing, and sports, During the summer one may find her traveling, for she enjoys the glories of the country, or vacationing with her family and little niece and nephews in the mountains of Pennsylvania. Although the Class of I9-46 is leaving the halls of Westfield High School. the guiding influence of Miss Fox will carry many of its members successfully into the future.
