The Student Council is the governing body of the Student Association. It was first organized in the year of 1933-34. The council consists of twelve members: one boy and one girl from each class, elected by the classg two representatives, one junior and one senior, elected at large from nomina- tions by the faculty. The principal is an ex-officio member of the council. The purpose of this organization is to develop in the students the educative and gov- ernmental responsibilities in the school organization. By apportioned representation from the faculty, classes, and association at large a general discussion of all needs, im- provements, or general welfare of the school are considered. The council has provided a number of free programs throughout the year, The scholarship contest which ends with a banquet for the winning class is sponsored by this organization.
