Student Council The Student Council is the governing body of the Student Association, It is a medium between the school officials and the Student Association. It was first organized in the school year 1933-34. The Student Association is composed of all students. teachers, and the principal. The Council consists of twelve members: one boy annd one girl from each class, elected by their classg two representatives, one junior and one senior, elected at large from nomina- tions made by the faculty: two faculty members appointed by the principal. The prin- cipal is an ex-officio member of the Council. The purpose of the organization is to develcp in the students the educative and gov- ernmental responsibilities in a democratic school organization. By apportioned repre- sentation from the faculty, cjasses, and Association at large a general discussion of all needs. improvements, or general 'welfare of the school are considered. The Council has provided at series of free convocation programs throughout the year, With the help of the trustee they have improved the library and subscribed to current lit- erary works. The scholarship contest which ends with 3 banquet for the winning class is sponsored by that organization. The council looks after the trophy case, maintains a lost and found department, and sponsors all other school activities that come under their jurisdiction.
