Administration Mr. Floyd Brenholt, principal, assisted by a fac- ulty of 16 teachers, provides an educational program for 235 students. Under his direction, some revisions were made in the school's existing program. In the guidance system now in operation, more complete records are kept on each student. Also, a more extensive national testing program is available. A rotating lunch hour permits each third hour class period to have its full seventy minutes of class time. Now in effect is a monitor system which is de- signed to regulate the student traffic occurring be- tween classes. Mr. Francis Kohn, Superintendent Principal’s Message Mr. Floyd Brenholt Principal With your high school life, you have been training yourselves for the years of the future when you will have finished your formal education. Through you class work you learned facts which will be useful to you in later life, but you also learned how to learn, and you will never stop learning. Through classes and organizations you learned to work with other people, something you can never stop doing. Through activities you learned pro- ductive ways of using leisure time, and leisure time is something you will always have to fill. To those who are seniors this year, we wish our best. We hope we have provided you with a solid foundation in all phases of life, upon which you can build for yourselves a rich and rewarding future. -5-

Home Economics Mrs. Merle Shurpit, Home Economics, instructs the Westfield High School girls for future home- making. Her subject matter covers cooking, sewing, home furnishings, child care, personal grooming, care of the sick, and guidance for married life. Mrs. Shurpit’s advanced home economics students are making useful decorative boxes. Mr. Kaczmarek, from his bandaged finger, shows no signs of pain as compared to Roger Mashack who is figuring out those difficult income tax forms. Business Education Mr. Norbert Kaczmarek, Business Ed- ucation, through the courses of typing, shorthand, bookkeeping, and office prac- tice prepares students for vocational needs and personal-use objectives. - 6 -
