Social Studies Mr. V. Clark, Social Studies, pre- pares students for their political and eco- nomic life through the study of govern- mental organizations, history of what is past, and the current problems of our American society. An allied subject in this field is geography, taught by Mr. D. Loehning. Mr. V. Clark checks an assignment in social studies with Gloria Krueger. Librarian Mrs. R. Runnels, Librarian, maintains an important department of our school, the library. During the year modem equipment and lighting have been installed in the library, making it a more pleasant place in which to work. Mrs. Runnels adjusts a letter on a bulletin board prepared by members of the Library Club. The displays focus student attention on the library and its many services. In ad- dition, arranging materials occupies the librarian's time. - 10 -

Science Mr. Loehning seems to be trying very hard to show his freshman science students how to use a microscope. General Science, the elementary high school science course is taught by Mr. Loehning and Mr. Arnold. Other science courses are Biology, Chemistry and Physics, all taught by Mr. Latzig. The study of these courses provides a student with much useful consumer information, but more important, their study is required for further work on a college level. These students have found something very interesting. Mr. Latzig is demonstrating an experiment for Bob Daye and Ken Mittelsteadt.
