Foreword Hi, gang! I’m the Westfield Pioneer. For ten years, you have honored and cheered me on in your school activities. As a result, I felt I was adequately quali- fied to guide the tour through this year's Annual. (Named after me, of course!) When 1 explained my plan to the editors of the i960 Pioneer, they agreed to pre- sent me as your guide. So, here I am! As you will notice, I 'borrowed' the theme of a well known Western hero to assist me on our tour. Everybody ready? Then check your muskets, grab your coonskin cap, and GO, PIONEERS!

Dedication The staff of the 1960 PIONEER are proud to dedicate this year's annual to a teacher, who has, for five years, opened the door for Westfield High School pupils to the fascinating world of science, Mr. Latzig. During his years of teaching at Westfield, Mr. Latzig has unselfishly contributed his time and efforts in assisting the pupils in extra-curricular activities. He has directed one-act plays, coached and judged forensics, held a drivers' education class, and began an art club. We feel mere thanks to be inadequate and hope to show the ap- preciation of the entire student body through the dedication of this year's annual. - 4 -
