The highlight for the fighting panthers of this season was the im- pressive 19-0 defeat of the strong Adams-Friendship team—the first loss for A-F on their own field. The fine team work and play showed the outstanding playing of immovable Scharnberg, guard; all around play of Capt. Smith, end; fine running of Sutor; left half; great job of centering by Hamilton, center; the passing and plunges of Capt. Christensen, fullback; those dangerous sweeps by Marks, right half; those two linemen, Buchholz and Hoffmann, tackles; and that fine punting and pass catching of Fredrick, end. The Panthers lacked weight but made it up in speed and team work. The purposes of The Future Farmers, of America are to develop complete aggressive, rural, and agricultural leadership, to strengthen the confidence of the farm boy on himself and his work, and to create more interest in the intelligent choice of farming occupations. Activities achieved and carried on throughout the year were: a booth at the county fair, treating seed grain, selling garden and flower seeds, and the sponsorship of agri- cultural programs. As a patriotic investment, we purchased a U.S. war bond. We also put part of our earnings into blackout curtains for our agricultural room. Mr. Jennings 18 C?C CzA: Row 1- D. McChesney; F. Kruger; B. This year the club consists of 37 members, 18 candle circle members and 19 fireside circle members.
