Morris Believing that the function of a school is to train the student to be a worthwhile citizen in a democracy, the Westfield High School has organized a Student Council. The Student Council of Westfield High School, a body of students selected from the classes and organizations, is dedicated to living cooperatively in the high school. A student council does not mean self-government,but it does mean student participation in government. The student council has undertaken many projects. Some of the major ones are the supervision of the study hall, presenting programs and parties, and helping in the conducting of intra-mural affairs. Since this is our first year, everything isn’t expected to run perfectly but in a few years the benefits of a student council will be appreciated. 23
