Murphy The Westfield High School Band, under the lead- ership of Norman Elliott, is composed or rorty-five members this year. Regular rehearsals are held every Wednesday rrom 3:15 to 4:00. Special rehearsals are held at appointed times. An annual event is the musicale held in mid- winter. In the spring the band travels to Stevens Point for the annual music festival. Climaxing the year's events is the district musical tournament, usually held in May. 16

Christensen, Mr. Hickey Advisor The high school paper, the Westfield Paragon, is written once a month by the Junior English class under the direction of Miss Robin- son. Mr. Hickey's typing classes take charge of publication. The object of this paper is to give practice in writing with a purpose, and to furnish students with a record of the happenings of the school year. 15

Russell The Pep Band was organized in 1937 for the purpose of pepping up the athletic games and adding a spirit or loyalty to our Alma Mater. This year the band was composed of twelve members. Harold Schauer was selected as director. The suits of purple and gold were worn while the band played at football and basketball games. 17
