I I ' . x N CLASS GF' lntroducing the freshmen, Class of l949! The first day of school, Sept. 5, 1945, was an eventful one for all freshmen. Cautiously we approached W.l-l.S., and with eager faces peered in the open doors. Soon, however, upon entering these portals, the friendliness of sophomores, teach- ers, and upper classmen won us over, and before long We were ready for the ordeal which proved to be both exciting and eventful. Through the excellent guidance of our counselor, Miss Cutler, many of our per- plexing problems were solved. As our sponsor, Miss Keefe, organized our class and planned our first social event. Our home room teachers, who daily helped to orient us to high school life are as follows: Miss McMahon, Mr. Morrill, Mrs. Slater, Miss Pushor, Miss Leary, Miss Cutler, and Miss Keefe. ln ourselves our future lies is our motto. Red and white are our class colors, and the gardenia is our class flower. Class officers for the first semester were: Adella Iuknevicz, president, Albert Ios- lyn, vice president, Sally Harding, secretary, Ruth Campbell, historian. For the second semester, we chose Roger Warner, president, William Saltus, vice president, Ruth Stewart, secretary. f28l
