-+I Staff members renamed the campus yearbook the Trailblazer in the early fall, in addition to choosing to publish WTC's first hardback annual. Under the leadership of editor Katie Bullock, freshman from Lubbock, and Mike McBride, advisor, assignments were completed and deadlines were often hurriedly met as the presses rolled out Trailblazer '74 in May. Staff members initiated advertising campaigns and entered Texas Intercollegiate Press Association competition in April. From reporters to copy editors to photographers, students learned to appreciate the word deadline.
