One of the biggest projects which Mr. Falkner undertook was the building of the new Student Council Sugar Shack. Yearbook Dedicated To Student Council Sponsor Mr. Falkner helped the Student Council purchase a printing press which is placed in the shop room. He and Mr. Land- reth supervise a group of boys who are learning to operate it. At Christmas time Mr. .Falkner worked with Mrs. Stover to prepare packages for the soldiers in Viet-Nam. We, the members of the Western Oaks yearbook staff, gratefully de- dicate the 1968-69 Warrior yearbook to lVIr. Joe Falkner. lVlr. Falkner, who teaches 8th and 9th grade metal shop, has taught here for 6 years, since the opening of the school. He has been an outstanding sponsor of the Western Oaks Student Council and has helped to make the schoolractivities really great. We think he is a very deserving teacher who really tries hard to consider the interests of the students. Mr. Falkner is always handy to help Patty Ridings and Mike Off, who run the Sugar Shack. We wish to thank him for encouraging the Student Council to make this the best year ever and for dedicating his time and efforts to us, the student body of Western Oaks Junior High Schooll. --The Warrior Yearbook Staff The Student Council converted one of the old candy booths into a Lost and Found' booth which Dixie DePron opens each day with Mr. Falkners 's help.

Every year Western Oaks has grown larger and more-classrooms are needed. This year 6 new temporary buildings were placed on the west playground for extra space. Western Oaks Grows With Pride This is Western Oaks Junior High's sixth year, and the enrollment and classroom space is steadily expanding. The 1968-69 enrollment increased by about 200 students and the total number reached 1476 shortly after the beginning of the year. Temporary building have been built for the overflow of classes- Three rooms of the elementary building are being used for junior high students, and the cafeteria is being used all day long for study halls. Twelve additional teachers were required and the total number oh the faculty is sixty, plus three counselors. Twenty four of these teachers are new to Western Oaks. This year, as always, the Warrior's goal is to make this the great- est school there ever was, and all Warriors will probably agree that this goal has been reached. The yearbook staff has tried to give complete coverage of the activities and happenings of the school year so that you will have a book of memories that you can own with pride. We hope you have as much fun reading your book as we did in making it. --The Warrior Yearbook Staff TABLE OF CONTENTS Administration ......... Faculty ............ Personal ities ........
