Formal-The First on The New Campus-an Eventful Dance. Just starting, a crowd begins to gather on the dance floor as the night cuts loose-in the band's peal and the duncer's sway. l Punch is cool and scrumptious after a dance and Mrs. Ptacek, wife of NWC President, Dr. William Ptacek, happily serves a couple. The night rolls on, and the students are not going to miss one dance, unless hunger strikes or legs give out, and sometimes it does happen.

38 x Student Council Brings Name Band to Entertain at Spring ' l The Downbeats from Kansas City give their all in sound display inside a blue-green clam at the Spring formal. Upon entering the gym, couples found themselves transformed into an underwater world by decorations done in a sea motif. Judy Hamburg and her date Bob Bubak rest in candlelight at fringed tables beneath a ceiling of twisted crepe paper. May 10 marked the day of the Spring Formal for 1969. Student Council sponsored the dance and decorations took on a sea green and blue cast in the circular gym. Students constructed a giant clam and set up displays for the eve- ning. Serving at the dance were women from NWC's Faculty Wives' Club. The Downbeats en- tertained everyone in this day of soul, and there were even several co-eds sporting the dressy evening variation of the bell-bottom pants. La i l Stu Rusch, Bonnie McKee, Diana Seip, and Mike Lewellen enioy the atmos phere only a formal dance and dreamy setting can give.
