Faculty and Students Work to Make WB- m if sinounied I N mmm u :gm H227- ll WIDE lv., 5 heal ....... fs It looks as though the girls have a big job ahead of them as they help Mr. Russell move to new facilities. Students move laboratory equipment from the old building into a waiting truck. Many volunteered their time to transport material to the new campus. 32 January 3'lst will stand out as a special day in the minds of many Nebraska Western students. This was the day students said good- by to the half-century-old building which had formally housed Scotts- bluff College, and stepped through the doors of the new, circular 52,700,000 Nebraska Western Col- lege. On moving clay, some students operated trucks between the old building and the new campus, while others helped to load and unload equipment. The work was hard and the hours long, but everyone agrees it was worth every minute of work. Rita Stahl and Bev Nichols assist the skeleton through the door of the old building. He now may be found at home in the new laboratory.

M-Day Successful me Students get an early start on moving clay by clearing library materials and equipment from the old annex Silence surrounds the old building, and moving day comes to a close as Dr. Ptacek locks the doors for the last time. Farewell Rickity Old Building Bev Nichols We'll miss you, clear old college, as we move to the new from the old. We'll miss your wasps in summer and radiators that quit when it's cold. We'll miss your battle-scarred old desks and cracks on plaster halls, We'll miss your one o'clock serenade when the chorus sings through the walls We'll miss your empty coke machines and candy that won't come out, We'll miss your floors that creak and cry when any soul trudges about. We'll miss our poker in the lounge and the money we lost and bet, We'll miss your lockers that shut and stuck, and the books that are in them yet We'll miss our teacher's frantic looks when they had twenty chairs too few, We'll miss looking out windows in lecture halls and the fun in row fifty-two. We'll miss our football on your lawn and your mudholes and signs of decays, We'll miss your trusty parking lot-we were often trapped there for days. We'll miss your drafty corners and your fountains that don't work We'll miss your bannisters that fall, your every nasty quirk. Yes, we'll miss you dear old college, where we have gone so long, We'll miss you for a little while, but I promise, not for long!!! P.S. Amen!
