Many challenges are offered by instructors in the fields of math and science. Heading the depart- ment of life sciences is Mr. Arthur Russell. He received a BS degree from Chadron State College, his MS from the University of Nebraska and has done advance study at the University of Texas. Also instructing in the field of science are Mr. John Koch, Mr. Larry Yarnell and Mr. Virgil King. Mr. Koch received his BS from Wayne State College and his MS from Kansas State College. Mr. Yarnell holds an AB and has done graduate work at Colorado State College. After receiving his BS from Chad- ron State College, Mr. Virgil King continued his education, receiving his MS from the University of Utah. lnstructing classes in mathematics are Mr. Jerry Lee and Mr. Peter 5325 eg-A' ef- Cook. Mr. Cook holds a BS and MS degree from Chadron State College. Mr. Lee gained his BA from Chadron State College. He is also the golf coach for Nebraska Western. Classes in fine arts offer many new ways in which a student may express himself. Heading the music department is Mr. William French. He received his BM and MM from the University of Nebraska. Mrs. William French also teaches various classes in music, in addition to giv- ing private instruction. She holds a BM and BME from the University of Nebraska. lnstructing classes in journalism is Mr. Seymour Kopf, who holds an MS from Long Island University. New to the system this year is Mrs. Janet Farmer. She holds a BS from West Texas State and an MA from Texas Tech. Other phases of literature and English are taught by Mr. Loren Bell, who holds a BA and MA from Adams State College, and Mr. Roy Doerfler, who gained his BS from San Francisco University, Mr. Doerfler, also an instructor in art, did graduate work at Colorado State College. Mr. Wayne Schumacher holds a BA and MA from Fort Hays Kansas State College. He is an instructor in literature. A Li .
