The 1948 Brown and Gold has been designed to present all phases of life af Western — from the time that the first rays of sunlight creep across the hilltop to the hour when quiet reigns over the campus. Throughout the seriousness of purpose which determines the actions of Western students there runs a vein of humor and the ability to take hard work with a smile. Into the 43rd annual edition of the Brown and Gold, we have attempted to inject this vein of humor, for the staff believes that the knack of working seriously — but with a smile — is a valuable possession.
