Enrollment was stable, but the types of people in school were Mt different with more part-time students and older people returning to college. 0 The fraternity houses still dotted College Street and Q G 'fi the surrounding neighborhood, but after neighbors objected, the fraternities had trouble getting the zoning exemptions that allow their houses to exist. A There was a marked change in students, too. They seemed more aware of the world - they seemed more active. Maybe the change was because of the new decade. Maybe it was just natural. Jim Pauley, a senior psychology majorg David Davison, a freshmang and Betsy Bogdan, a fashion merchandising major, talk in the late aftemoon sun. The revised University Center Board, given new control over concerts Q S and other entertainment, started the year ready to bring improved entertainment to campus. But something went wrong along the way. Only two concerts were ig ED scheduled - Pablo Cruise at Homecoming and REO Speedwagon in the l spring - and neither attracted much interest. The disco craze of the previous year seemed at first to stumble, then fall and finally die.
