| 1930 1947 FRANKLIN PIERCE HAYS Mr. Hays graduated from Harvard Law School in 1934. From 1934 to 1937 he was Assistant Professor of Law at the School of Law, University of Louisville. He has practiced law in Louisville since 1937 and at the present time is a partner in the law firm of Skaggs, Hays and Fahey. 1932 1947 SARA ELIZABETH TYLER Miss Tyler received the Master of Arts Degree from George Peabody College for Teachers in 1945. From 1933 to 1938 she was reference assistant in the library of Western Kentucky State Teachers’ College, and from 1938 until the present she has been head of the periodical room. Miss Tyler is a member of Kappa Delta Pi and Pi Gamma Mu. Page ten . U By CVI A yw 1931 1947 BASIL CHAMBRUS COLE Mr. Cole received the Master of Science Degree from the University of Kentucky in 1932 and the Doctor of Philosophy Degree from Iowa State College in 1938. He was a member of the faculty of Western Kentucky State Teachers’ College from 1932 to 1945. At present Mr. Cole is Technical Director and Head of Product Department, The Seven-Up Company, St. Louis, Missouri, Mr. Cole is a member of Alpha Zeta and Sigma Xi fraternities. He is a member of the Missouri and the National Institutes of Food Technologists. 1933 1947 MRS. WARREN ROLEY (nee Edith Louise Welch) After graduating from Western in 1933 Miss Welch taught in Barren County high schools for four years and for a half year in Greensburg High School. At this time she became ill and retired from active life. In 1943 Mrs. Roley went to St. Louis, Missouri, and took a course in Radio Mechanics. She then taught this subject to students in the Army Air Forces radio school at Scott Field, Illinois. In 1945 she became a Control Operator at a commercial radio station in Columbia, South Carolina. There she married Warren Roley of Camas, Washington. She, Mr. Roley, and their infant son are now living in Camas. Ornzor 1924

raduates 1924-1946 Tow 1927 1947 MRS. JOHN K. BREAST (nee Louise Cherry) In 1927 Mrs. Breast went to Shelbyville, Tennessee, to install a commercial department in the high school there. Since then she has spent thirteen years as a teacher of English and Commerce in addition to four years in a business office. Mrs. Breast has two sons. 1928 1947 MRS. JESSE THOMAS (nee Charlene Roemer) The two years following her graduation from Western Mrs. Thomas spent as director of girls’ physical education at a high school in Ocala, Florida. From 1930-1936 she was in the Physical Education Department at Western. In August, 1936, she married Mr. Thomas. From 1936-1941 Mr. and Mrs. Thomas lived in Baton Rouge where Mr. Thomas was in the Physical Educa- tion Department of Louisiana State University and where Mrs. Thomas did graduate study. In 1941 Mr. Thomas went into the United States Army. In 1946 Mr. and Mrs. Thomas moved to oa Gree ee 1929 1947 tucky, where Mr. Thomas is Head Football Coach at Western. Mr. and Mrs. Thomas have three children. ANNA MAJORS From 1929 to 1931 Miss Majors taught in the Training School of Western Kentucky State College. In 1982 she received the Master of Arts Degree from the University of Michigan. During the years 1932- 1934 she continued to do graduate work at the Uni- versity of Michigan. ae ales 1946 1935 1947 MILTON A. JONES In 1988 Mr, Jones received the LL.B. Degree from Harvard Law School at Cambridge, Massachusetts. He is a member of the Kentucky Bar and has been admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of the United States. After being employed as an attorney of the United States Department of Agriculture, he became affiliated with the Federal Bureau of Investigation as a Special Agent on February 6, 1939. He is now stationed in Washington, D. C., as a member of the FBI Head- quarters staff. 1937 1947 JOSEPHINE MIDDLETON Miss Middleton received the Master of Arts Degree from Peabody College, Nashville, Tennessee, in 1942. She is now in the Art Department of Stephen F. Austin College, Nacogdoches, Texas. 1934 1947 JOHN B. THOMAS, JR. From 1935-1943 Mr. Thomas was an English teacher in Louisville high schools. In 1940 he received his Master of Arts Degree in English from Indiana University. He has done part-time college teaching at the Indiana University Extension Center at Jeffer- sonville, Indiana, and at George Washington Univer- sity, Washington, D, C. Mr. Thomas entered the United States Navy in July, 1943, and is still in the service. He holds the rank of lieutenant. He and Mrs. Thomas, the former Rena Belle Angle (Western, 1935), have been living in Washington, D. C., for the past two years. 1936 1947 ROBERT E. SCHELL In June, 1940, Mr. Schell graduated from Vanderbilt University Medical School, Nashville, Tennessee, with a Doctor of Medicine Degree. During 1940 and 1941 Dr. Schell was an interne at Vanderbilt University Hospital and was then appointed to the Resident Staff in Pediatrics. In July, 1941, he started active duty with the Army Medical Corps doing chest and com- municable disease work at hospitals in Denver, Colorado; Nashville, Tennessee; and Ashville, North Carolina. In November, 1946, he was separated as a Major: At present Dr. Schell is Director of the Medical Service at the Veteran’s Administration’s General Hospital, Swannanoa, North Carolina. Page eleven
