Students Prepare for Family Life Domestic management, including areas of home and family relations and child care were taught to both male and female students at West- ern Hills by departmental chairman Mrs. Elise Ball and Child Develop- ment teacher Miss Linda Nichols. Artistic qualities such as cooking, clothing construction, and interior design were areas of study followed by Mrs. Ruth Campbell's advanced homemaking classesg while Mrs. Carol Feik instructed basic funda- mentals in first year homemaking. Business Courses Gffer Experiencd Mr. Ulysses Cox Mrs. Mary Lynn Foust Mr. Tom Park Students of Western Hills were given the opportunity to gain expe- rience in business skills under the guidance of the Business Depart- ment. Typing instructors Mrs. Melva Houston and Mrs. Bobbie Leggett guided students into developing basic typing skills. Miss Mary Mon- arch served as shorthand teacher while Mrs. Julia Baker instructed her students in accounting. Instruct- ing the General Arithmetic and Bus- iness courses was Mr. Riley Dunn. Credit was given to students for their job experience as part of the courses taught by Mr. Ulysses Cox and Mr. Tom Park. Distributive Education was taught by Mr. Park and Mr. Cox was the instructor for Industrial Cooperative Training. Vocational Office Education, taught by Mrs. Mary Lynn Foust, provided students with an opportunity to learn about office skills and machines.
