Mrs. Sharland Kirkpatrick Exploring the universe and seeking the answers to natural questions pro- vided the incentive for the science department this year. Two new mem- bers, Mrs. Marsha Henton, and Mr. Joe Coulson added their knowledge to the science staff. Experimenting with new teaching techniques utilizing two instructional aides and a college for- mat, Mr. Barron Pressley taught first year Biology. Mrs. Ruth Amend, Mr. Robert Dixon, and Mr. Joe Coulson also taught first year Biology classes. Mrs. Marsha Henton, Mrs. Gwen Rog- ers, Mr. Lloyd Seely, and Mr. George Sutton taught General Physical Sci- ence. Mrs. Sharland Kirkpatrick taught General Physical Science and Physics. Mrs. Mary Lacy was the only Chemis- try teacher. Discovering Our Talents Retaining individualism in their talent while at the same time learn- ing to function togetherg students combine ideas with the end result, a product of imagination and interpre- tation. This was accomplished in the fine arts division. Mr. Ed Curry as head of the art department, guides the talents of his students in experi- menting with new concepts includ- ing .jewelry and sculpture. Willing to share her knowledge of the theater, and provide construc- tive criticism is Mrs. Juanita McCullough, fbelowj head of the speech and drama department. Mrs. Jewell Kelly leads the voices of W.H.H.S. in the school choir along with her chorus classes. The intermediate and advanced bands, directed by Mr. Jerry Jones, provided music for several school programs including half time enter- tainment at the football games.
