P. E. Emphasizes Specialized Physical Growth A studentis physical growth is stressed through specialized physical education classes. Mrs. Norma Headrick and Mr. Richard Allie were the health teachers for ninth graders. Besides the general PE. courses, specialized courses in basketball, gymnastics, and tennis were offered by Mrs. Thelma Cole, Mrs. Lea Martin,and1 Miss Flossie Wallace. Mr. Mike Morris was chair- man of the Menls P.E, Department. Mr. Dale Walker and Mr. Hugh Massey teach p.e. and also coach football. History Department Disp ays Capability Enthusiasm History teachers reveal knowledge, and capability by showing enthusiasm. Two new instructors were Mr. Leo Perkins and Mr. Charles Reavis.. A changing aspect in teaching was shown by Mrs. Marjorie Buhl and Mrs. Alpha Wenzel in the pilot program ACT. Mrs. Dorothy Niesen and Mr. W. B. Cole taught on the basis of thinking on your own. As a part of our coaching staff, Mr. David Helbing and Mr. Ronnie McLain aided in teaching world history. Miss Candice GriHin taught world historyg government was taught by Mr. Robert Metcalf and Mr. Thomas Strother.
