School Improved by Consideration, Time, Hard Work Consideration, hard work, and dedicated time are all found in the WHHS office staff and counseling staff. Mrs. Bessie Thomas handles much of the school 's business, while Mrs. Madge Prince, answers the daily prob- lems on the telephone. Mrs. Tommie Dodrill and Mrs. Billie Prince help each student with transcripts, substitute teachers, and payroll. Attendance clerks Mrs. Gladys Wallace and Mrs. Sally Carter have a big job keeping the attendance records. Counselors Mrs. Ann Bradley, Mrs. Kathryn Edwards, Mrs. Mary Alice Webb, and Mr. Bill Polson aid in the scheduling of individuals and help the sen- iors in future planning. School nurse Mrs. Barbara King gives care to students who are ill RIGHT: Mrs. Tommie Dodrill is in charge of the transcripts for all students. Science Seeks New Goals of Stud New directions of study are taken by the Science Department teachers to establish a logical pattem of thinking. New members in- clude Mr. Webster Armstrong, Mrs. Sharland Kirkpatrick, Mrs. Gwen Rogers, and Mr. George Sutton. Mr. Lloyd Seely serves as de- partment chairman. Mr. Robert Dixon is sponsoring the Science Club and golf team. Two biology instructors are Mr. Baron Pressley and Mrs. Ruth Amend. Mrs. Mary Shimp is the only chemistry teacher. Mrs. Kirkpatrick sponsors the Clean Environment Club. General Physical Science is taught by Mr. John Stripling and Mr. Kenneth Dryden. RIGHT: Mrs. Winnie Taylor, who was switched to the Math Department after the first nine weeks, smiles pleasantly at the antics of her eighth period science class.
