THE WESTERN WA To outsiders, Western Hills is just another high school. But to anyone familiar with West High, it is unique. A Western Way of doing things is present in school activities, athletics, and studies. The Western Way is felt by the students, administra- tion, and faculty. With the help of Phil Breen, Ioe Lucas, Mr. Ralph Greisser, Mrs. lean Michaels, Mr. Edwin C. Sutton, Mr. Anderson Owens, and Mr. Robert Cheeseman, the Annual Staff will attempt to explain the Western Way. Canton McKinley transfer student, Ioe Lucas. was interviewed because he can best compare life at West High with that of a large up-state high school. Phil Breen was interviewed because he is Student Council president and has been in contact with other high schools. A Western Hills graduate and a former coach at Harrison, Mr. Ralph Greisser can best describe the Western Way in sports. Also a former West High student, faculty member and Student Coun- cil sponsor Mrs. Iean Michaels probably knows more about Western Hills than any other teacher at the school. Mr. Owens, Mr. Sutton, and Mr. Cheeseman have been administrators at other public schools. Having knowledge of these schools as well as West High, the three can help explain What makes Western Hills different. 2 opening
