Drama, music, art show talent Drama helped to develop talent by giving the student an opportunity to pantomine, to do an improvisation, to do oral reading or oral interpretations. The purpose of the drama class was to give an individual self-confidence, experience, and the opportunity to work and co-operate with one another, stated Mrs. Carol Mumma, drama teacher. Students learned directing, cutting, and stage terminol- ogy. Drama classes encouraged students to try out for the parts in the two dramatic plays put on by the drama department this year. The Music Department allowed students to exhibit musical ability both vocally and instrumentally. In band and orchestra the exceptionally talented student is given the opportu- nity to compose and arrange musical pieces, stated Mr. Andrew Brady, band director. The choral department offered Senior choir, Sophomore choir, Ensemble, and Studio choir, taught by Mrs. Mary Schneider. The combined choirs, band and orchestra present musical arrangements both in and out of school. Art gave students a chance for self-evaluation and expression. Ad- vancing at their own rate, art students were encouraged to express individu- alism and imagination through drawing, painting, craft work, and construction.
