Audience assumes role of jurors Student life at West High offered an almost limitless variety of activities and experiences to discover light and truth. Although the succession of special and everyday events seemed hardly profound, a student could en- counter all elements in the search for light and truth. You are to determine whether the defendent is guilty of the murder of Bjorn Faulkner and her fate rests in your hands. . . Thus Judge Heath instructed the jury for the drama de- partment's fall production of The Night of January 76. The play, .a portrayal of a court case, . . .deals with realistic situations and people, stated Fred Bram, president of Na- tional Thespians at West High. Karen Andre, the central character, is being tried for the murder of her em- ployer, Bjorn Faulkner, the president of a huge corporation. Bjorn Faulk- ner, the ruthless financier, could have been murdered by a number of char- acters -by his wife, Nancy Lee Faulk- ner, her father, John G. Whitfield, a suspected accomplice in Faulkner's swindles, by Larry Regan, a notorious ganster, who rushes into the court- room unexpectedly and is obviously infatuated with Karen, or even by his own hand. lContinuedl .vfh W. . , . ..,., ,, in court drama V X g Q ' , as ff H .
