TEACHERS PREPARE FOR THE WORLD OF STUDY Three o'cloclc-there goes that familiar bell! Kids rush out from all over as another day has come and gone, but not so with our teachers, Their days are not halted by that final bell. Many remain late into the afternoon to help us with perplexing problems, or to offer individual coaching. Others stay to supervise clubs, publications, athletics, and musical activities. Often teachers must at- tend professional meetings artd study groups or take part in curriculum planning on city-wide committees. At night there are still papers to grade, lessons to plan, and tests to compose. With all of this, they must still, some- how, find time to read widely on their subjects and keep abreast of current affairs. ls it any Wonder that teachers are busy people? Even in the good old summertime, when the livin' is easy, and the student is enjoying his vacation, some teachers are sitting in university class- rooms, gathering more valuable information for their forthcoming pupils to study. Other teachers obtain first- hand information as they visit the places and countries to which their subject is most closely related. The teach- er's vacation ends on Labor Day, as he must report to the school for an opening meeting. No, students aren't the only ones who must study and prepare the day's work. West l-li's teachers carry a full schedule, 'round the clock. Energetic teachers Mrs. Walter, Mr. Love Miss Smith, and Miss Bolsen attend in stitute meetings held for a week pre ceding the opening of a new school year These Mexican travelers, Holly Mott, Miss O'Hara, and Miss Murphy, are sharing vacation memories.
