WJWM Mr. Conger and Mrs, Heninger, senior high counselors, discuss an article from Better Schools, a publication by the Board of Education for teachers. COUNSELORS HELP US PREPARE FOR THE FUTURE langling telephones, clicking typewriters, chattering people, and constantly crowded offices on a warm Sep- tember day are the sure signs that school has started and the counselors' rush has begun. Counseling is a full time job as Mrs. l-leninger, Mr. Conger, and Miss Han- auer certainly know. Administering tests, arranging schedules, compiling records, and generally being on hand to answer students' queries constitutes a large part ot their profession. ln spring, as the time for making out options rolls around, their crowded days are crammed with appointments as they help students prepare for their tutures. All of these things make up a counselor's usually busy day. The secretaries' days are no less hectic. They are filled with a never-ending round of typing, mimeographing and letter writing. Together Mrs. Betty Keller, Miss Marion Bothert, Miss Barbara Bicking, and the school treasurer, Miss Mildred l-lusemann, assist counselors and principals, and cheerfully and patiently counter the grievances and questions of the student body. 22
