English serves as a basis for learning the cultural and fine benefits gained from a live study of literature, dramatics, debating. Below is seen a caricature of Mr. T. Burns, faculty adviser of the Annual and dramatics coach. These duties keep Mr. Burns very busy and yet he finds time for making and keeping countless friends. ln the upper right, Miss McKinley is shown as she discusses the day's lesson with her pupils, and at the right, in the center, is a photograph of Mr. Burns as he pauses to examine annual pictures. At top of the page is a caricature of Miss Klaser- ner, who, besides teaching, serves as supervisor of student teachers. Next, and right, is seen Miss M. TQ .l 'Q Mr. Arthur Chesley holds a conference with S lfC Bob Lohbeck to get the opinion ofthe Breeze from the serv- iceman's view point. Faculty Adviser of the Breeze, Mr. Chesley also conducts a class in Journalism. The study of dramatics plays an important part in modern English. Through dramatics the student learns not only self-expression but appreciation of the theater. To the right, students learn the art of makeup. Mrs. V. Watson judges a debate in her Public Speaking Class. Such practice brings a better speaking knowledge of our language. Top right: a caricature of Mrs. Watson. Mrs. M. Rees has done a fine iob in guiding the Choral Speaking Club. This aids in appreciation of literature. 24
