And so, it is the aim of the language teachers of XVestern Hills to teach us the tongues of our now close neighhors and allies that our lives may hecome as one life. For, it is only in this way that we can all reap of the harvest of heauty and plant the seed of peace in this, our world, In addition to knitting together the relations of the countries of the world, foreign languages furnish the people of America with a heauty and romance that is a change from English and yet which serves to enrich it. Vvfandering through our foreign language department, Wilhur saw the French, Spanish, German, and Latin classes in action: he heard the poetry and songs of foreign nationsg he ohserved the many activities that seemed, at times, to arouse discontentment. But disf satisfaction occurs everywhere and much credit must he given to our language teachers for their success in making this year an interesting, profitahle one. The world of tomorrow is oursg it is ours to guide and develop, Our knowledge of foreign languages will he invaluahle to its future progress. At the upper left hand corner ls Mi'. K. Fouch takes great care as she mounts travel posters from lirance. Although the study of French was dropped from our studies. she waits for the day when she may teach it again, 0 0 ations ,ns

It is the close harmony hetwccn teacher and student that leads to hetter understanding of the suhject and as a result hettcr work from the pupil. The fact that visual aid is a prime factor in modern education and will continue to he, is stressed hy Miss A. Klaserner supervisor of Student teachers now study- ing at the University of Cincinnati. By her side is Miss H. Cooper and Miss M. Ohanian as the group prepares a slide collection for the next hell class. The teachers helieve firmly that pictures will present the ideas of Greek Myths much hetter than mere words. Directly heloxw, we discover Miss R. McKinley as she leads her class in discussion of an interesting suhject. Miss McKinley was annual adviser during the hrst semester, and at the end of that time she departed for important husiness in New York. Z.: 5? Es' K-A? f .yr 4.- .1 up 1 1 g A W Miss M. L. Schroth. seen to the left, was at one time a student teacher at Vv'estern Hills. She has rapidly hecome a friend to her students and has fulfilled the imporf tant task of teaching fourth vear English classes very well. It is very delightful to study English in her classes for she is very friendly and her smiles and good nature are an incentive to do good work.
