H M 'yawn 'l'oday we live in an age ol precision. Mathematics is the science of precision and exact ness, and we of Vllestern Hills are greatly indebted to our math faculty for the training they have given us in this field. In addition to training along technical lines, however, education, if it is to give young people a world viewpoint, must include foreign languages. For this reason the teachers of foreign language are also an important part of our faculty. ln the upper left hand corner of the opposite page Miss Clarice Hobensack, instructor of navigation and aeronautics as well as mathematics, is pictured at her desk. The picture in the top center shows Mrs. Helen lWalters smiling obligingly for a picture while explaining a problem to her class in elementary math. At the upper right of the page Mr. Robert Brown is seen searching in his desk drawer for some algebra problems. Mr. Karl Herrle, seen at the record-player is preparing entertainment for his German class. ln the center of the page Miss Bess Bolan, our literary-minded Latin teacher, inspires her pupils in the study of the ancient classics. At the bottom of the page Mr. Herman Yung explains the steps ol a geometry proposition to one of his pupils. Directly below, Mr. Edward Oehler dec- orates his room with mathematical diagrams drawn by his students. In the picture at the lower left Mr. Alfred Schick is discussing a math problem with his class. At the immediate right, Miss Agnes Andrew pauses from explaining a problem in higher math to pose at her desk for a picture. 4 gy is ia, t if ,N X 't'...fJ
