For most, being a Pioneer meant living within the limits of campus from the 8:05 morning bell until that beautiful last bell sounded ringing out their free- dom. Although occasionally the urge to clock out at lunch was a tempting idea. And more so than ever on those warm days when the car was available and the old stomach was in a demanding mood for a burrito supreme. A solution to the problem came through a rearrangement in schedule to allow for assemblies,.Iawn concerts, or special events like spirit week which aided in keeping students on campus. The end result was a burst in school and student moral by creating just a simple change of pace. 8 Theme Bloom where you are planted. 10 Theme The in Between Times of High School X Somewhere in between the confusion of the first few weeks of the new year and the excite- ment of the last closing school days, there was a middle to be found. Near late October, early November, the time came when the West-hi student body began to really settle into school. Most Pioneers had found the degree of effort they wished to put forth by then. The commitments ranged from Mary Ann Sclifo deep into studies What's going on? Concentration and hard work. . .
