ath 8a Science Clubs Were Active Groups The MATH CLUB participated in the Anaheim-Halloween Festival and began a new and inspiring trend with the Computer Matching service. They also sold Crunchies at the Country Fair. This year's SCIENCE CLUB was in many activities, starting with the Clean Campus project. And also presented guest speakers for the students of Western High. The club also had many field trips to Cal State, Fullerton Science Department and Sea World. 24 Clubs THE CALIFORNIA SCHOLARSHIP FEDERATION under the leadership of President-Debbie Smart had an active first semester. They had a Rummage sale, participated in the all-school Christmas Tree sale, gave a Christmas party for the senior citizens at the Casa Bonita Retirement home, Tutored students at Western and participated in the ALL Southern California CSF night at Disneyland. THE NATIONAL FORENSIC LEAGUE was involved in both tournament and service club contests. This year three of Western,s seniors had the opportunity to participate in the Bicentennial youth debate. Cheryl Adams represented Western in debate, Holly Beilman in persuasive speaking and Sandi Schoales in extemperaneous speaking. Art 8L Bowling Clubs Were Involved The Art Club printed and sold Christmas cards to the students, faculty and friends this year as a fund raising project. They also painted murals on the bathroom walls near the Forum. The clubs officers were: Cathy Carpenter Pres., Fran Brock Vice Pres., Steve Taylor Sec., and Chris Harrison Treas. Advisor: Ms. Dorothy Newhouse. This year The Bowling Club started offwith a challenge match vs. Savanna HS, which Western won.
