The Thespians had two winners at the California State, Long Beach, Drama Festival. Randy Skretvedt won the Best Actor award and Gary Parkhouse the best supporting. The Westhi group also traveled to Valley College in Los Angeles for a Drama competition. This year the Thespians performed several plays on campus, one ofwhich included Skretvedt's original, High School and Other Insults. The final production was The Rainmaker . In addition to their many performances, the Thespians raised funds by selling You Bug Me Rocks and their St. Patrick's Green Bagel Salef, Advisor: Mr. Doug Phelps. The Group competed in a district-wide tournament and in other business and typing events throughout the county and state. The FBLA'ers held regular meetings to study new business methods and trends. Had Several Functions The Good News club sponsored the band Bethlehem which performed contemporary Christian music at noon in the student park. Weekly Bible study and prayer groups were conducted by a representative from the Fire Escape, a Christian coffee house. Special meetings were held in the Forum at noon. The group also participated in a Maranatha Festival at Knott's Berry Farm. Several car washes were held for fund raising purposes. 22 Clubs Girls' League Gave Traditional Service to School Activities ' . 'Q' This year, Girls' League was again the sponsor of many activities and traditions, such as the Homecoming Mum Sale, the Christmas Formal, the Valentineis Day Carnation Sale, the Chocolate Easter Bunny Sale, in addition to many service projects for the school and the community.
