For the Memorable in a constant parade of firsts, the year began with the biggest first of V all . . . Our first year as afull fledged Senior High School. A ' From the exciting opening day until the day school closed, not a week went by without some mst time'i' happening taking place. Since for the first time was the most significant characteristic of the year, our yearbook, in recording these first events and personalities which contributed to the 1959-1960 school year, takes as its theme, FOR THE FIRST TIME. Among these have been first classes such as Physics, Senior Problems, Busi- ness Law, Electronics, Driver Training, and many others.. First sports events, such as our 'first year in the Sunset League or our first game against Anaheim or our first football players on the All County Team. We have also watched as our Drill Team won many awards for our school, winning the huge Compton Parade, and as individuals won many contests in speech, essay and others. We have also seen our Senior Class, in its role as leader, become our first graduating class. These and many more are Western firsts. P
